Congress trade amount ranges

Also called amount range, value range

STOCK Act reports give each trade's size as a range such as $1,001–$15,000 or $15,001–$50,000, not an exact amount.

What are the ranges?

The ranges are $1,001–$15,000, $15,001–$50,000, $50,001–$100,000, $100,001–$250,000, $250,001–$500,000, $500,001–$1,000,000, $1,000,001–$5,000,000, $5,000,001–$25,000,000, $25,000,001–$50,000,000 and over $50,000,000.

A member's trade size is therefore never known exactly, only its lower and upper bounds.

Whalegun shows the range on each trade row and uses the midpoint of the range as the estimated amount for totals and rankings, marked as an estimate.
