Foreign Agents Registration Act
Also called FARA
A 1938 US law requiring anyone doing political or publicity work in the US for a foreign government, party or company to register with the Justice Department.
What does a FARA record show?
Lobbying and PR firms working for foreign principals register with the Justice Department and report regularly whom they work for, what they do and what they are paid.
Contracts between Korean government bodies and US lobbying firms are public through FARA. It is a separate system from companies' Lobbying Disclosure Act reports.
